Women, Influence & Power in Law

Speaking Engagement | September 21–23, 2016

Katten is proud to sponsor this year's Women, Influence & Power in Law conference. San Francisco Bay Area office managing partner Lily Chinn will moderate the "How the DOJ's New Worker Endangerment Initiative Expands the Scope of Criminal Penalties to Workplace Safety" panel on Friday, September 23 at 1:45 p.m. This session will focus on the high stakes for companies under the multi-agency Worker Endangerment Initiative. The panel will discuss:

  • the challenges associated with worker endangerment cases today, including the increased risk of stiffer penalties for OSHA violations, the new focus on broader, multi-disciplinary investigations, and coordinated criminal enforcement actions;
  • the important role of effective compliance plans, including enhanced safety policies, training and other compliance measures; and
  • best practices for organizational changes and briefings for senior management and executive leadership regarding substantial increase in exposure associated with a single accident.
