What to Expect When You're . . . Negotiating Your Own Contracts

Partner Leonard A. Ferber, co-head of Katten's Technology practice, will be holding a workshop at 1871entitled “What to Expect When You’re. . . Negotiating Your Own Contracts.” The workshop will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 1871’s facility in Chicago. As startup tech companies gain traction, they begin to enter into contracts with customers, many of whom have their own forms of vendor agreements. Lacking the resources to hire a lawyer, many entrepreneurs have to negotiate these customer agreements on their own. This workshop will help entrepreneurs understand what to expect during the contract negotiation process, offer tips to speed the contracting process and help level the playing field with more established customers and discuss some of the crucial legal terms of customer agreements.
