Steven Solow Quoted by Bloomberg BNA on Environmental Crime

Firm News | April 4, 2017

Environmental and Workplace Safety practice co-head and partner, Steven Solow was quoted in a Bloomberg BNA Daily Environment Report on the likely continued prosecution of corporate officials for environmental crimes, even with anticipated cuts in funding for the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and USEPA. Steve noted that there are "straight-up criminal cases that would be brought in any administration" because they have the "indicia of criminality" such as fraud or false statements. He also observed that, "Interfering with criminal prosecutions has long been considered a third rail in American politics," and that doing so "can be very treacherous for any politician." ("US Prosecutors Expected to Stay Tough on Environmental Crime: Former Officials," April 4, 2017)
