Steven Solow, Co-head of the Washington, DC White Collar Defense, Internal Investigations and Compliance Practice, Discusses Cross-Border Investigations at ABA Institute

Firm News | July 9, 2014

Steven Solow, co-head of the White Collar Defense, Internal Investigations and Compliance practice in the Washington, DC office, joined other leading authorities on corporate investigations and privacy issues for a discussion as part of the 2014 American Bar Association's National Institute on Internal Corporate Investigations and In-House Counsel. The panel discussed challenges facing companies doing business in multiple jurisdictions, including when to conduct an internal investigation, rules on collecting information, self-reporting and the use of outside vendors. Steven also noted that not all data is personal data when it comes to privacy: "It's important to identify what might be considered business data early on because the data may be easier to access, simpler to use and less complicated to move from one place to another."
