Sarah Adams is an associate in the Financial Services practice. She advises alternative investment managers, private equity funds, hedge funds, insurance-dedicated funds, sovereign wealth funds, registered investment advisers and commodity pools in multiple jurisdictions on regulatory, securities, commodities, corporate and other legal matters.

Sarah focuses her practice on assisting in the formation of private equity funds, hedge funds and insurance-dedicated funds that utilize a wide variety of strategies, including real estate, credit, quantitative trading, long-short trading and life settlements and representing the sponsors and managers of such funds in the negotiation of side letters. She also represents institutional investors in connection with their investments in private equity, hedge and other investment funds by reviewing and commenting on fund documentation and negotiating side letters.

Sarah possesses significant experience as it relates to the regulatory requirements of domestic and offshore private offerings and also provides advice in relation to the negotiation of agreements between the principals of fund sponsors and managers.

Prior to joining the firm, Sarah worked at one of the largest hedge funds in the world, with approximately $160 billion in assets under management. Her focus there was on regulatory compliance. While in law school, Sarah was on the staff of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.
