Richard Marshall Quoted on SEC Commissioner Vacancy Filled

Firm News | September 19, 2018

Financial Services partner Richard Marshall spoke with Law360 on the recent arrival of Elad Roisman to fill the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) lone commissioner vacancy. Noting the potential for gridlock that existed before the appointment, Richard stated, "With a full commission, [SEC Chairman Jay Clayton] is much more likely to be able to get the votes he needs." He added that the general perception of Commissioner Roisman is that he will likely "support more of a deregulation agenda" and "less inclined to support very aggressive, novel enforcement cases."
