Partner William Dorsey Quoted on Landlord-Tenant Dispute Involving Nike

Firm News | December 12, 2014

Litigation and Dispute Resolution partner Will Dorsey spoke to Crain's Chicago Business about a lawsuit filed by Chicago landlord Fred Latsko against its tenant Nike. Will surmised that the litigation likely stems from the landlord's concerns about finding a replacement tenant willing to pay the steep monthly rent Nike was paying for the space. Noting that disputes like this typically are resolved without litigation, Will said, "The landlord is saying 'I'm better off with this tenant in place than going off to find a new one.'" ("Nike Sued Over Rent at Closed Lincoln Park Store," December 10, 2014)
