Partner William Dorsey Profiled in Law360 Dealmakers Q&A

Firm News | September 23, 2014

William Dorsey, a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice who focuses on creditors’ rights, real estate, and complex commercial and intellectual property matters, was featured by Law360 as a "Dealmaker." He discussed the need to reform prejudgment remedies and the recent trend of courts seeking to expand residential and consumer protections into commercial lending. Will also suggested that aspiring dealmakers “go back to the basics” and acknowledge the other side’s position during negotiations: “That type of honesty can be disarming for the other side to hear, yet I’ve found that it also tends to make them more open to hearing your side of an issue. Acknowledging the merits of their arguments also signals that you are listening to what they are saying, which is a small but important factor in trying to work together to find common ground.” (“Dealmakers Q&A: Katten Muchin’s William Dorsey,” September 23, 2014)
