Partner Mark Farley's Accident Response Presentation Cited in Daily Environment Report

Firm News | November 21, 2014

A recent presentation by Mark Farley, co-head of the Environmental practice and head of the Workplace Safety practice, on incident preparedness and response to environmental accidents was covered by the Daily Environment Report. His comments came from “Environmental Accidents: Nuts and Bolts for Counsel in Times of Crisis,” the ABA webinar in which he participated on November 18. Mark said that given the high stakes of accidents, lawyers should help industry clients prepare by taking a “hard look” at crisis management plans. The increasing criminalization of accidents can damage a company and Mark said, “A coordinated, well-managed response is essential.” He discussed how counsel can help prepare detailed plans covering the key legal issues involved in accident response—reporting, inspections, interviews and document management before an incident or accident occurs.
