Partner Gil M. Soffer was quoted in an article in Report on Medicare Compliance about the indictment of four defendants in a scam to bill health plans for expensive, non-existent brain surgeries over a period of two years. In the article, Mr. Soffer notes the brazenness of this particular scheme, saying, “you see services not rendered that were allergy shots or chiropractor services. You don’t often see brain surgery,” (“Four Indicted in Alleged Scheme To Bill Brain Surgery Repeatedly,” June 11, 2007).
