Gil Soffer, a partner in the Firm's White Collar Criminal and Civil Litigation Practice, was quoted in an article in Report on Medicare Compliance about a Detroit physician's conviction and 16-year sentence for fraud, after he submitted 80,000 false insurance claims to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan. "The dollars that were lost boost the sentencing range to a pretty high level," Mr. Soffer notes in the article ("MD Convicted Twice Before Gets 16-Year Sentence in Fraud Case," November 5, 2007).
