Overview

Danielle "Paige" Gallaspy concentrates her practice on environmental and safety regulatory and compliance matters. She routinely counsels companies in connection with major industrial accidents, internal investigations and root cause analysis (RCA), workplace culture, compliance assurance, crisis response, whistleblowers, process safety incidents, and workplace injuries and fatalities. Paige also advises companies on government agency investigations and enforcement, environmental litigation, and response to regulatory rulemakings. Paige has helped clients respond to investigations by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and state regulatory agencies.

Prior to joining Katten, Paige worked as natural resource advisor on the Deepwater Horizon incident, where she provided support for operations regarding best management practices and compliance with Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act.

  • Representation of a Fortune 50 chemical manufacturer in connection with investigations by the CSB, OSHA, the EPA and other agencies into a four-fatality accident resulting from the release of toxic chemicals, including subsequent enforcement.
  • Representation of a global energy company in connection with an explosion at a refining facility that resulted in federal and state regulatory agency investigations.
  • Representation of a multinational automotive manufacturer in an enterprise-wide compliance assurance and safety review.
  • Representation of a global energy company in connection with an explosion at a refining facility that resulted in federal and state regulatory agency investigations.
  • Provision of advice to energy companies on EPA and OSHA proposed rulemaking regarding RMP and PSM regulations.
  • Representation of energy and chemical companies in connection with environmental criminal investigations.
  • Representation of a multinational oil and gas services company in connection with a DOJ investigation into an offshore incident involving multiple fatalities.
  • Representation of a supermajor in a multi-agency investigation following a refinery fire.
