Neil Robson Comments on ESMA's Short-Selling Regulations

Firm News | August 9, 2017

Financial Services partner Neil Robson was interviewed by HFM Week in connection with a consultation paper from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and inconsistencies in short-selling reporting requirements between EU Member States. Neil highlights one potential solution, stating, "At the moment, the national variances and differences can make the reporting within the T+1 timeframe difficult to achieve in practice. Having a centralized reporting system would be a great benefit to firms, rather than a different method for each country." ("Will Managers be Sold Short by ESMA’s Consultation?," August 9, 2017)
