Mark Farley Talks on Camera Regarding Houston's Arkema Plant Fire

Firm News | August 31, 2017

Mark Farley, the co-head of Katten's Environmental and Workplace Safety practice and located in the firm's Houston office, was interviewed by NBC affiliate KPRC TV's Click2Houston regarding the recent explosion and fire at the Arkema Inc. chemical plant that resulted in a mandatory evacuation order in the town of Crosby, and sent thick, acrid smoke skywards and 15 Harris County deputies to the hospital. Farley explained how the investigation by government agencies, including the US Chemical Safety Board, will examine two important issues, including the causes of the incident and how the employer and local agencies responded to the emergency that developed when Hurricane Harvey compromised the chemical manufacturing site's ability to refrigerate chemicals and keep them from becoming highly unstable.
