Mark Farley Discusses More Chemical Safety Board Changes With Bloomberg Environment

Firm News | July 5, 2018

Environmental and Workplace Safety practice head, Mark Farley spoke with Bloomberg Environment on leadership changes with the Chemical Safety Board (CSB). CSB Board Member Kristen Kulinoski has been tapped to serve as interim chairperson following the recent resignation of Vanessa Sutherland. A new chairperson will need to be nominated by the President Donald Trump and confirmed by the US Senate. With three other members likely to leave when their respective terms end in August 2020, Mark noted that the White House should nominate two new members, with one serving as the new chair. He suggests that the move would create continuity between the CSB's agenda and the administration, while avoiding a potential leadership vacuum.
