Lisa Atlas Genecov Comments on Growth in PE Firms Targeting Health Care

Firm News | May 29, 2019

Lisa Atlas Genecov, national co-chair of the Health Care practice, spoke with the Report on Medicare Compliance regarding growth in private equity firms investing in the health care industry and related compliance issues. Lisa noted the renewed interest in health care as a target of opportunity, stating, "There is an aging population in need of more health services and big growth in more chronic conditions because people are living longer. All this creates more opportunities for PE investment." She adds that another change in the current trend is that PE firms are in the market for stable physician practices or other health care entities "with a compliance focus." "They aren't just looking for a group that may have a lot of business, but one that's growing financially and in a compliant way."
