Lily Chinn Comments on Technology Assisted Review

Firm News | June 14, 2016

Lily Chinn, San Francisco Bay Area office managing partner and co-chair of the Electronic Discovery and Information Governance practice, was quoted in LegalTech News regarding the use of technology assisted review (TAR) and its impact on e-discovery. Lily noted that TAR really makes a difference in terms of speed in internal investigations. Regarding use in the civil context, she stated, "The amount of data people keep is rising, and despite the fact that many companies are trying to institute information governance policies, when they try to get rid of old data, [no one does it]. There's got to be a way to manage that noise. . . . Going forward, I think everybody is looking to technology to cut through that noise and get to the answers immediately . . . and I think that TAR is going to be that thing that people turn to."
