Laura D. Waller concentrates her practice in litigation and dispute resolution with an emphasis on employment matters. She represents companies in federal and state courts and administrative agencies on claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, wrongful discharge, violation of restrictive covenants, breach of fiduciary duties, misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract. Laura also provides employers with day-to-day preventive counseling and strategic solutions with regard to pre-employment inquiries, hiring, discipline, separations, disability and religious accommodations, employee handbooks and policies and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
During law school, Laura served as the executive administrative editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. Following graduation from law school, Laura was awarded a Public Interest Law Initiative Fellowship with the Legal Assistance Foundation in Chicago where she assisted in counseling and representing clients on employment-related matters. Laura is an active participant in Katten’s partnership with Jose de Diego Academy, a Chicago public school.
