Katten successfully defended former NBA player and Milwaukee Bucks Center Larry Sanders against a claim brought by his former agent, Andrew Miller of ASM Sports. Miller had filed a grievance with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), claiming that he was owed $1.6 million commission on the four-year, $44-million extension of Sanders’s rookie contract with the Bucks in 2013.

The arbitrator, George Nicolau, conducted the proceedings under the NBPA Regulations Governing Player Agents, upheld Katten's timeliness defense and dismissed the claim. The opinion is expected to be precedential in the NBPA's internal library of decisions.

Entertainment and Media partner Joel Weiner represented Larry Sanders in this arbitration.
