Katten served as a Gold Sponsor of the 2017 Lurie Children's Ball on Saturday, December 2, benefiting the Children's Research Fund and the Stanley Manne Children's Research Institute at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

"Katten's decision to become a Gold Sponsor this year fits with our long-standing commitment to helping positively impact people in the communities where we live and do business," said Chairman Roger Furey.

Laura Keidan Martin, national head of the firm's Health Care practice, served as co-chair of the event. "The theme for this year's ball, 'Stories… Rewrite the Possibilities,' celebrated the stories of kids whose possibilities have been rewritten by the research breakthroughs and amazing care at Lurie Children's while underscoring the need for continued pediatric research support to rewrite the stories of kids for generations to come," Keidan Martin said.

The event raised $3.75 million in support of pediatric medical research.
