Katten Named Among the Most Innovative Law Firms

Firm News | September 7, 2018

(CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today that the firm is named among the leading innovative law firms in a newly released report detailing how clients are increasingly expecting more creative approaches to addressing their legal needs.

"We are thrilled to be recognized for delivering the kind of world-class services our clients seek. Investing in resources that help us develop more innovative solutions to the most pressing business challenges is yet another way we offer greater value to our clients," said Katten Chairman Roger P. Furey.

The BTI Legal Innovation and Technology Outlook 2019 is the first in-depth report by BTI Consulting Group that ranks firms on legal innovation and technology and is based solely on client feedback. BTI conducted more than 350 interviews with general counsels and other top legal decision makers at US companies with $1 billion or more in revenue across various industries.

The report recognizes Katten as a market-leading innovator, dedicated to trying new approaches to tackle longstanding and evolving legal issues, and establishing standards to ensure the firm meets the biggest needs of its clients.

In January, Katten launched an innovation team to work internally and with clients to identify areas where processes and collaboration can be improved to bring more value to clients. Based on client and attorney input, the team is working on a number of projects around leveraging data, evaluating matter management via process mapping, and using artificial intelligence to complement the firm's best-in-class legal services.

Further, the firm's innovation team is evaluating staffing models, developing new practice and support roles that are better suited to the next generation of lawyers, and leveraging data and collaborative software tools to improve client value.

"Innovation at Katten is an extension of our pragmatic, problem-solving approach to legal work. We continue to drive the firm forward by helping clients look around the corner and anticipate future needs," said Andrew Sprogis, Katten's Chief Innovation Officer. "We have a number of solutions in the pipeline that we will be sharing with our clients in the coming months."
