Katten represented developer Peter N.G. Schwarz Management Company affiliate One Town Center LLC in landing more than $245 million in construction financing from Federal Funding Group LLC for the US Citizenship and Immigration Services' (USCIS) new national headquarters facility in Maryland. The financing will help fund the 575,000-square-foot project in Camp Springs, which will consolidate USCIS' footprint by a total of 128,000 square feet. The group will initially lease the space for 15 years, and it plans to move roughly 3,700 employees to the new building. "This is a significant deal in terms of size, scope and complexity of the transaction," said Ken Lore, head of the firm's East Coast Real Estate practice. "Additionally, this new government facility will bring transformative benefits to this community, including jobs and other significant economic benefits."
