A team of 25 Katten attorneys, staff, family and friends from three of the firm's West Coast offices participated in the Special Olympics of Southern California's 12th Annual Plane Pull Fundraiser on Saturday, August 19. They were one of nearly 40 teams that competed to pull a 124,000-pound FedEx aircraft 12 feet in the shortest time possible.
The team was co-captained by Rachel Osterbach, a Special Olympics athlete for 25 years and the star of the A&E reality TV series "Born This Way," and cheered on by dozens of supportive onlookers. The Katten team pulled the Boeing 757 cargo plane 12 feet in 7.45 seconds, and raised $5,000 for the cause. In total, this year's contest raised nearly $140,000.
