Katten Brings on Leading Investment Management Attorney Anthony Perricone in New York

Firm News | December 10, 2013

(NEW YORK)—Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today that private fund and investment management attorney Anthony L. Perricone will join the firm's Financial Services practice as a partner based in New York.

Perricone's arrival at Katten is the second major addition to the firm's investment funds practice in the past two months following the hiring of hedge and private equity fund specialist Barry Breen in the London office.

Perricone counsels private fund sponsors, investment managers and institutional investors, and played a major role in the initial formation and ongoing representation of several of the world's largest and most prominent hedge funds, each with current assets under management of between $10 and $30 billion.

"Tony's significant experience in fund formation and his strong investment management practice will be a great asset for Katten and further strengthens our presence in the global financial services space," said Vincent A. F. Sergi, Katten Chairman.

Perricone's investment management practice focuses on fund formation, structuring and restructuring, SEC registration and compliance, investor negotiations and secondary transactions. Additionally, he has broad experience advising private equity and real estate fund sponsors, as well as specialty fund sponsors investing in commodities, renewable energy projects, ships, trade claims, film projects and fine art, among others.

"Tony is a prominent hedge fund attorney who has advised several of the largest international hedge fund groups from their inception," said Henry Bregstein, global co-chair of Katten's Financial Services practice. "His solid reputation in the industry through his work with private fund sponsors, investment managers and institutional investors in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia further enhances our financial services team's global advantage."

Outside of sponsor representation, Perricone frequently advises pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and high-net-worth individuals in making and exiting alternative asset investments.

Before his career as a lawyer, Perricone was a certified public accountant and consultant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in New York. He also lived in Geneva, Switzerland for two years as a strategic advisor to a prominent family office with interests in shipping, banking, oil refining and real estate.
