(CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today the arrival of Sean S. Wooden, a partner in the firm's Washington, DC Intellectual Property (IP) practice, who will work closely with the seven-member group of corporate attorneys that recently launched the firm's Dallas office.
Wooden advises clients on IP matters, including patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secrets, and other areas related to technology, such as open source, export compliance and cybersecurity. He joined Katten specifically to assist the Dallas partners, who specialize in matters of sophisticated corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and Private Equity.
"Sean fully grasps the entire range of IP issues that individuals and companies face. This deepens the capabilities of both our national IP practice and our new Dallas partners, whose extensive skills, leadership and experience augment our award-winning Corporate practice," said Katten Chairman Roger Furey.

Like the initial seven members of Katten's growing Dallas team, Wooden previously was a partner at Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP in Dallas. He regularly negotiates complex agreements and assists with transactions involving IP and technology, including M&A agreements. He also develops, manages and monetizes IP portfolios, particularly through licensing, and provides support on litigation matters.
