Katten Adds James Sheesley as Partner in Real Estate Practice in Washington Office

WASHINGTON – Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce that James P. Sheesley has joined the Firm as a partner in its Real Estate Practice. Mr. Sheesley will be based in the Firm’s Washington office.

Prior to joining Katten, Mr. Sheesley was counsel in the Washington office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP. Before that, he was with the New York office of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.

Mr. Sheesley concentrates his practice on commercial real estate law with a focus on acquisition, development, financing and disposition transactions. He advises developers, investors and owners in domestic and international transactions involving all major asset classes, including office buildings, retail centers, multi-family properties and land assemblage. Mr. Sheesley also has significant experience in construction and design contracting, commercial leasing and general business law. In addition to his work on behalf of owners, Mr. Sheesley represents investment banks in mortgage loan originations and securitizations. His current practice encompasses the entire range of real estate finance structures, from portfolio loans and partnership syndications to private equity investments, securitized mortgages and mezzanine loans.

Mr. Sheesley received his B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans and his J.D. from Cornell Law School.
