Joshua Rubenstein Named One of World's Top 100 Wealth Advisers by Citywealth

Firm News | April 26, 2006

NEW YORK and LONDON – Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce that Joshua S. Rubenstein, national chair of the Firm’s Trusts & Estates Practice and managing partner of its New York office, has been named one of the world’s Top 100 international wealth advisers by U.K.-based financial publication, Citywealth.

Citywealth’s list is comprised of the world’s "most highly respected" wealth advisers, including lawyers and barristers, accountants, investment professionals, and professional trustees, as chosen by their peers. Mr. Rubenstein was one of only three U.S. attorneys named to the list, which notes his work on the estate of Russian dance icon, Rudolph Nureyev, as well as his standing as an "elite private client magic circle lawyer." The list was compiled after researchers asked more than 2,000 U.K. and international wealth advisers to recommend the peers they respect the most.

"Josh is one of the finest attorneys I know in any practice area," said Vincent A.F. Sergi, Katten’s national managing partner. "His work in all aspects of trusts and estates law is highly regarded throughout the world and we are extremely proud that he has been recognized as one of the top wealth advisors by his peers."

Mr. Rubenstein’s practice encompasses a wide variety of private client matters on an international, national and local level, including personal and estate planning, the administration of estates and trusts, and contested Surrogate’s Court and tax proceedings for high net worth individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs, artists and others with unique intellectual property interests.

Mr. Rubenstein is an Academician and member of the Executive Council of the International Academy of Estates and Trusts Law, a Fellow and Regent of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel, a Member of the U.K.-based Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation. He is a former chair of the Trusts & Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and of the International Committee of the Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Rubenstein is an adjunct professor at Brooklyn Law School and the author of the LexisNexis Answer Guide on New York Surrogate’s Court Practice.

Mr. Rubenstein has also been named one of the "Best Lawyers in New York" by New York Magazine, one of the "Best Lawyers in America" by American Lawyer magazine, and one of the "Top 100 U.S. Attorneys" by both the Robb Report and Worth Magazine. He is also listed in Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World.
