EPA Inspector General Calls for CSB to Increase Investigations; Issue Chemical Reporting Rule

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Inspector General ("OIG") recently released a report identifying major management challenges at the U.S. Chemical Safety Board ("CSB"). The June 29, 2016 report, titled "FY 2016 U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board Management Challenges," identified several management challenges at the CSB including employee morale, investigation management, and the agency's failure to establish a chemical accident reporting rule.
