Overview

Emily Mott focuses her practice in litigation and environmental and workplace safety. She has experience in a broad range of civil litigation matters, as well as internal investigations and company compliance matters.

Emily has experience in comprehensive legal research and analysis; pre-suit matters, including managing complex discovery; and the representation of clients throughout the litigation process. She has been involved in the formulation of legal strategies for cases involving construction litigation, real estate transactions, consumer law violations, fraud, breach of contract, white collar crime, trustee disputes, premises liability, product liability, insurance and warranty disputes, bankruptcy, and torts, such as breach of fiduciary duty and tortious interference. She has represented a wide array of clients, from banking institutions to privately held conglomerates.

Emily also has experience in alternative dispute resolution, namely arbitration and mediation. She handles complex negotiations and has obtained settlements on behalf of clients, as well as complete dismissals with no liability found.

During law school, Emily served on the executive board of the Law Center's Moot Court Team and acted as operations editor of the Houston Journal of International Law.

Previously, Emily interned with the Honorable Mike Engelhart of Harris County’s 151st District Court and the Harris County District Attorney's Environmental Crimes Unit. Throughout law school, she worked as a research assistant focusing on whistleblower regulations.
