CSB Reiterates Criticism of Existing PSM Regulations In Testimony Before the Washington State Legislature

On January 15, Don Holmstrom, the Director of the Western Regional Office of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board ("CSB"), testified before the Washington state House Labor Committee regarding refinery safety. In his testimony, Mr. Holmstrom reiterated recent CSB comments that U.S. refineries experience significantly higher incident rates than refineries elsewhere in the world, and that existing PSM regulations are inadequate.
