Chemical Safety Board Adds Preventative Maintenance, Emergency Response to Most Wanted List

On July 15, the U.S. Chemical Safety Board ("CSB") announced two new additions to the agency's Most Wanted Safety Improvement Program. The two new additions, Preventative Maintenance and Emergency Planning and Response, were selected as priorities due to the frequent role both have played in accidents investigated by the agency. The "Most Wanted" program, which is modeled after a similar program developed by the National Transportation Safety Board, is intended to focus CSB advocacy efforts through intensive follow-up and heightened awareness....
