(CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP today announced that 24 of the firm’s practices and 50 attorneys have been recognized as leaders in the industry in the 2013 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Katten’s Climate Change (National), Insolvency and Restructuring (California and Illinois), Environmental (District of Columbia), Entertainment and Media Litigation (California) and Entertainment and Media Transactions (California) practices received new designations, and 11 Katten attorneys received either new or elevated rankings in their respective practice areas.

“These rankings show the growth in breadth and depth of Katten’s practice areas and of the firm overall,” said Vincent A. F. Sergi, Katten’s national managing partner. “This is a tribute to our tremendously talented attorneys and their dedication to excellent client service.”

Katten’s highest rankings were given in the category of Real Estate – Illinois and Real Estate: Finance – North Carolina. Partners Gregory K. Brown, Michael R. Callahan, J. Hayden Harrell, Daniel S. Huffenus, Alvin Katz, Chuck Knauss, Floyd A. Mandell, Laura Keidan Martin and Joshua Rubenstein received the highest individual rankings in their respective practice areas. Additionally, Herbert S. Wander, a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice, and Peter F. Nadel, of counsel to the firm, were named “Senior Statesmen.” Frank E. Arado, a partner in Katten’s Real Estate practice, was again named an “Up and Coming” attorney.

Katten’s newly ranked practices were praised for their exceptional client service.  Chambers USA quotes a client of the firm’s national Climate Change practice as saying, “They’re extremely strategic; they understand the big picture and know how an individual piece of litigation or regulation fits into a broader whole, and they’re extremely good at moving from strategy to tactics.”

Of the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring practice, Chambers USA notes, “Katten Muchin enters the rankings on the back of extremely strong praise for its expertise in representing major financial institutions and creditors, and the impressive recent growth of its Californian bankruptcy team.” Clients describe attorneys in the Insolvency and Restructuring practice as being “Very responsive and attentive to our client needs.” Of the Environmental practice, sources assert, “We have been highly impressed with the firm. All of the attorneys we’ve dealt with have been attentive, responsive and very knowledgeable.” Chambers USA distinguishes the Entertainment and Media Litigation practice, saying, “This firm has an impressive bench, and is commended for its teamwork and cohesive approach,” and clients describe the Entertainment and Media Transactions practice as “High quality. Attorneys with more specialized knowledge of media and entertainment than the big firms.”
