Chambers High Net Worth Guide Recognizes Katten's Trusts and Estates Practice

(CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP announced today that the firm's Trusts and Estates practice and nine partners were praised in the Chambers High Net Worth (HNW) 2019 guide, a publication that focuses on the international private wealth market and ranks law firms and lawyers in that space based on recent work, experience, and interviews with clients and other attorneys.

The firm was recognized nationally as an industry leader in the area of Private Wealth Law and distinguished regionally in Illinois, New York and Southern California. Katten also was commended for the outstanding legal services it provides in Private Wealth Disputes in New York.

Katten partners Adam M. Damerow, Ronni G. Davidowitz, Abby L.T. Feinman, Charles Harris, Michael O. Hartz, Carol A. Johnston, Tye J. Klooster, Joshua S. Rubenstein and Matthew Sperry were singled out for their excellence and touted as leading attorneys in the field.

Rubenstein, national head of Katten's Trusts and Estates practice and national chair of the Private Client Services group, received the highest individual ranking possible in the Private Wealth Law practice category. He was lauded as "a well-established trusts and estates practitioner" and market insiders praised him as "one of the giants in the field" and for being "highly regarded for international planning."

Damerow, a partner in Chicago, was recognized for being "well versed in matters related to domestic and international estate planning, as well as estate administration."

Davidowitz, who heads Katten's New York Trusts and Estates practice, was highly praised for having "all the skills you need for this area" and one market insider noted she is "considered a leader at the Bar."

Feinman, head of the Los Angeles Trusts and Estates practice, was acknowledged for her wealth of experience assisting clients with domestic and international tax planning. One interviewee said, "Given Abby's depth of knowledge, I can say without qualification she is a subject matter expert."

Harris, co-head of the firm's Trusts and Estates practice in Chicago, was praised for his deep knowledge advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners and private equity investors on a range of matters. He was praised by a source for being a "very bright estate planner."

The Chambers HNW guide highlighted Hartz, who works with Harris as co-head of that practice, as a "a well-respected trusts and estates practitioner who is experienced in advising families, closely held businesses and entrepreneurs on all matters related to succession and wealth preservation." Once client reported, "He combines being a lawyer who looks for solutions with substantive knowledge."

Johnston, a partner in Los Angeles, advises clients on estate planning and tax planning, including the administration of trusts and estates and charitable planning. She scored high praise from sources who noted that she is "technically as sound a lawyer as you can find."

Klooster, a partner in Chicago, was featured for assisting with private equity principals with wealth preservation strategies in addition to estate planning and wealth transfer matters. He was applauded for being a "phenomenally good lawyer" who has a "growing practice."

Sperry, a partner in Chicago who assists wealthy clients with estate planning matters, including international tax planning, asset protection and pre-immigration planning, was lauded by insiders for his "practical and commercial approach" as well as for "relating well to clients."
