Bloomberg Environment Talks With Mark Farley on Chemical Safety Board Recruitment

Firm News | November 19, 2018

Mark Farley, Environmental and Workplace Safety head, spoke with Bloomberg Environment on recent efforts to increase the number of Chemical Safety Board (CSB) investigators despite concerns regarding morale. The responses of CSB employees to the 2018 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey showed a large decline in the percentage of staff that would recommend the CSB as a good place to work. Mark suggested that it is hard to read anything into that drop, given the overall small size of the CSB. He added that the agency is making progress standardizing investigative processes and adding technical rigor. ("Safety Board Recruitment Ramping Up Amid Staff Discontent," November 2, 2018)
