Michael Callahan, a Chicago-based partner in the Firm’s Health Care Practice, was quoted in an article in Credentialing and Peer Review Legal Insider about hospitals’ overreliance on the board certification status of physicians. In the article, Mr. Callahan says that, “hospitals must consider a range of indicators of the physician’s knowledge, competence and clinical performance to comply with Medicare’s conditions of participation.” (“Put board certification in context when privileging MDs,” October 2007).
