Katten Team Wins Turnaround Atlas Award for Golden Gaming Restructuring

Katten partners Craig Barbarosh, Jan Harris Cate, Karen Dine and William Freeman received a 2012 Turnaround Atlas Award for their work on the Golden Gaming, Inc. financial restructuring. Part of the Global M&A Network’s M&A Atlas Awards, the annual Turnaround Atlas Awards honor the best turnaround deals, professionals and firms from the international restructuring community. The Golden Gaming, Inc. deal was named Turnaround of the Year in the Gaming & Hospitality category. The Katten team acted as lead counsel to the administrative agent on behalf of multiple lenders in connection with the restructuring of a defaulted $160 million credit facility owed by Golden Gaming, a Las Vegas, Nevada-based operator of four casinos (one with an adjacent hotel), 40 gaming “taverns” and a 154-location slot-route operation.
