5th Annual Government Enforcement Institute

Katten will participate as a sponsor in the University of Texas School of Law's 5th Annual Government Enforcement Institute (UTGEI) on September 20–21, 2018. Litigation partner Barrett Howell will serve as a co-chair of the event, which provides a collegial forum for practitioners and in-house counsel to engage with high-level current and former government and other authorities with an enforcement mandate. UTGEI will involve discussion of enforcement trends, risk areas, judicial and legislative developments, and key stages and considerations during a government investigation.

Washington, DC Litigation head and partner, Nadira Clarke, will serve as a panelist during the "Continuity of Operations Following Disasters: Confronting Legal Challenges in Energy, Law Enforcement, Environment, Commerce and Beyond" session on Thursday, September 20 at 4:15 p.m.

Chicago office managing partner and Litigation co-chair, Gil Soffer, will serve as a panelist during the "Ethical Considerations in Government Investigations" session on Friday, September 21 at 9:30 a.m. The panel will explore how to navigate gray areas implicating ethics obligations without a road map or precedential case law.
