Brian Winterfeldt, head of the Internet practice, will participate in "Evaluating the New URS vs. UDRP: Navigating the Alternatives for Trademark Enforcement of Domain Names" at 1:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 27. This CLE webinar will provide guidance on the range of enforcement options available to address domain name infringement in today's expanding Internet space, including the advantages and disadvantages of the new Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS) and the preexisting Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP). The panel will examine how to determine which dispute resolution mechanism will be most beneficial to a brand owner in different infringement scenarios, offer strategies to optimize the chances of success in each domain name dispute, and look ahead to how the ICANN community will be evaluating the overall rights protection landscape in connection with the new generic top-level domain (gTLD) program.
