Sheldon Zenner, national head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, discussed his participation in Operation Greylord with Illinois Super Lawyers Magazine. An Assistant US Attorney in Chicago during the investigation, he joined former prosecutors, the lead undercover agent and a lawyer for the defense to provide an oral history of the scandal that rocked the Cook County court system in the 1980s resulting in the federal convictions of over 100 defendants involved in the corruption of the judicial system. Sheldon commented on his role as one of the federal prosecutors during the 1984 trial of John Devine, at which the former associate Cook County Circuit Court judge was convicted of taking payoffs from corrupt lawyers while sitting in the Cook County courts.
