Scott A. Resnik, a partner in the White Collar Criminal and Civil Litigation Practice in Katten’s New York office, was quoted in a New York Times article on the Department of Justice’s investigation of U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, Christopher J. Christie’s awarding of tens of millions of dollars in no-bid contracts to friends and family. In the article, Mr. Resnik, who previously worked in the public corruption unit under Mr. Christie, responds to allegations that the investigation is politically motivated, noting that, “There was never even the slightest suggestion that partisan politics play any role whatsoever in who we investigated or how we made cases. If there had been, the career prosecutors in that office would have been resigning every day,” (“Usually on Attack, U.S. Attorney in Newark Finds Himself on the Defensive,” February 13, 2008).
