Mark Farley Comments on Workplace Safety Issues Surrounding Zika

Firm News | August 12, 2016

Mark Farley, co-head of the Environmental and Workplace Safety practice, was featured in a Law360 article on the legal obligations and guidance from Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regarding employee safety surrounding the Zika virus. In addition to making insect repellent available at high-risk worksites, Mark noted that employers need to be "responsive to concerns about Zika exposure, especially if these concerns relate to site conditions that may give rise to large populations of mosquitoes." He added that perception is important, stating, "OSHA is always more inclined to respond to employee concerns if they perceive the employer as being indifferent."
