Qualifications and Career Profile
William E. Underwood, Jr. concentrates his practices in the areas of corporate and trusts and estates law. In addition to having extensive experience handling complex business and environmental litigation, Mr. Underwood has experience advising and representing clients on public airport regulatory and litigation exposure matters.
In addition to representing corporate and government entities, Mr. Underwood has been legal counselor to high-net-worth individuals, advising them in such areas as business succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning and wealth preservation, and closely held corporate issues, including issues related to differing interests of participants in business partnerships and joint ventures, corporate finance and key employee planning.

Mr. Underwood is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina State Bar and the American Bar Association.
Education
Mr. Underwood received his undergraduate degree (A.B., 1960) and law degree (J.D., 1964 cum laude) from the University of North Carolina, where he served on the Board of Editors and was Associate Editor of the North Carolina Law Review.
