William J. Kraus

William J. Kraus represents individuals and businesses involved in governmental and regulatory investigations, arbitral proceedings and civil litigation at the state and federal levels. Specifically, Mr. Kraus concentrates his practice on disputes relating to the financial services industry, complex securities litigation and white collar investigations. He has represented diverse parties before the Securities Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, National Futures Association and Department of Justice. Additionally, he has assisted clients with all aspects of federal discovery, briefing, and pre-trial practice before the Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of New York, Eastern District of Michigan, Courts of Appeals for the Second, Seventh and Ninth Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Kraus worked as an attorney concentrating in general litigation at the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty. Mr. Kraus received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 2005 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 2009. While in law school, Mr. Kraus was selected by a faculty panel for placement at the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development in Geneva, Switzerland, where he worked to further the participation of developing nations in the World Trade Organization through litigation and dispute settlement training.

Mr. Kraus is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association.
