W. Kenneth Davis, Jr., focuses his practice in corporate, transactional and compliance matters. He represents diverse businesses and entrepreneurs, and views his role as being a resourceful problem-solver who structures innovative responses to accomplish client objectives.

A major component of Mr. Davis' practice focuses on providing counsel, in a wide range of capacities, for clients within the health care service and e-health sectors including physicians, hospitals, ancillary service companies and other types of health care service providers and businesses.

Mr. Davis works with health care clients during their structuring, development, growth and ongoing operations of new businesses, joint ventures, management and other service relationships, networks and other relationships aimed at integrating and improving the efficacy of the health care process. His work involves a myriad of matters including initial structuring and business model development, analysis of regulatory and reimbursement issues, private equity, debt-based and lease-hold financing, and mergers and acquisitions. He also regularly provides health care compliance counsel for clients.

Prior to joining Katten, Mr. Davis was vice president and general counsel for Princeps Inc., a Nashville, Tennessee-based physician practice management company focused exclusively on diagnostic radiology services. Princeps had resulted from the merger of Healthcare Resource Management, Inc. of Nashville with Princeps Medical Practice Management, Inc. of Birmingham, Alabama, which Mr. Davis had co-founded and for which he served in dual capacities as chief operating officer and general counsel.

As a frequent lecturer, Mr. Davis has spoken at seminars sponsored by the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, the American Hospital Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Society of Medical Association Counsel, the National Managed Health Care Congress, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Radiology, the American College of Cardiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Radiology Business Management Association, AHRA: The Association for Medical Imaging Management, the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, the Society for Nuclear Medicine, the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council, the Chicago Bar Association, and miscellaneous state and local medical societies. Mr. Davis is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business (2008–2011).

Mr. Davis received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Chicago and his law degree with honor from DePaul University College of Law. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Davis was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, he was the managing editor and an author for the Journal of Health and Hospital Law, a monthly publication of the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Davis has also served on the Board of Editors of the Annals of Health Law, the annual research publication of the American Health Lawyers Association, and on the Advisory Board for the Health Law Institute at DePaul University College of Law.
