Tensions Mount as Deadline Approaches for Tariff Changes

As the end of the year quickly approaches, importers are reminded the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (“HTS”) is currently slated for significant revisions anticipated to take effect January 1, 2007. Importers are strongly urged to consider the impact of these changes upon their operations in order to avoid cargo clearance delays and to ensure the proper tariff classification of their imported merchandise. Exporters are also reminded the tariff revisions impact the Harmonized Tariff Schedule worldwide.
