Stuart P. Shulruff

Stuart P. Shulruff concentrates his practice in the representation of financial institutions and investments funds in the structuring, negotiation, documentation and syndication of senior and mezzanine credit facilities. He regularly counsels administrative agents and lead arrangers in connection with syndicated senior secured cash flow and asset based financings including acquisition, going private, leveraged buy-out and recapitalization transactions. Mr. Shulruff has extensive experience in first lien/second lien credit facilities and advises investors in mezzanine debt facilities. His clients include Ares Capital Corporation, Bank of Montreal, CapitalSource Finance, LLC, General Electric Capital Corporation, Golub Capital Incorporated, Madison Capital Funding, Merrill Lynch Capital, NXT Capital and Victory Park Capital. Mr. Shulruff sits on the firm’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and is listed in Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers, Chambers USA: American Leading Lawyers for Business (2003–2011), The Best Lawyers in America (2004–2012) and Illinois Super Lawyers (2007–2012).

Mr. Shulruff graduated with High Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He graduated cum laude from Loyola University School of Law in 1984. Mr. Shulruff has been an attorney with Katten his entire career.
