SEC to Propose Emergency Rules to Deal with Goldstein v. SEC

On July 25, 2006, SEC Chairman Christopher Cox identified six areas for emergency rule-making related to the mid-August vacating of the SEC's hedge fund adviser registration rules under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. In addition he outlined further actions that the SEC and its staff will be taking or are considering.
