Saul E. Rudo is National Head of the firm's Tax Planning Practice. He concentrates his practice in the area of tax and corporate planning for corporate, private equity, venture capital and international transactions, and investment and management compensation arrangements.
Mr. Rudo is a frequent lecturer and has spoken at the ACG InterGrowth Conference on “Use of LLCs in Buyout Transactions”; a Strategic Growth Conference for Middle Market Ingredients Companies on “Special Considerations for Buyers and Sellers – Alternative Transaction Structures”; a Geneva Companies Conference on “Selling Your Business – Exiting on Your Own Terms”; and the Corporation and Business Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association on “Fundamentals of Venture Capital Transactions.” Mr. Rudo has also spoken at an Economist E-Business Summit Conference on “How Spinning Off an E-Commerce Business May Benefit Your Company.” In addition, Mr. Rudo spoke on “Tax Implications for Investments in Non-U.S. Companies” at the Private Equity Funds Conference sponsored by the Financial Research Associates at the Harvard Club in New York, and spoke on "Acquisitions and Divestitures as Strategic Growth Strategies" at the New Directions in Leadership – 2009 Corporate Network Summit presented by ACG Chicago.
Mr. Rudo has been selected as a “Leading Illinois Attorney” by American Business Research Corporation and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2010–2012) and repeatedly in Illinois Super Lawyers. Mr. Rudo is also a member of the “Leading Lawyer Network – Top Lawyers,” and was listed in the 2010 and 2011 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He is a member of the boards of directors of First Bank of Highland Park, the Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation, the Jewish National Fund and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and is a member of the IVCA Legislative Committee.
Mr. Rudo graduated with highest honors from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1980, where he was a member of Bronze Tablet. Mr. Rudo received his law degree in 1983 from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to practice in Illinois (1983).
