Qualifications and Career Profile
Philip A. Nemecek concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, with an emphasis on insurance coverage disputes.
Mr. Nemecek has broad experience in complex coverage litigation involving multiple layers of insurance and joint defense teams. He has been involved in multiple litigations over liability and priority of insurance in automobile rental and lease situations, including briefing on these issues before the New York Court of Appeals. He regularly counsels clients regarding insurance, including analysis of their existing coverage and evaluation of their prospective insurance needs.
In addition to representing clients at trials, arbitrations and mediations, Mr. Nemecek has appeared frequently before state and federal appellate courts.
Associations and Committees
Mr. Nemecek is a member of the New York State Bar. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Lectures and Articles
Mr. Nemecek has an article, co-written with Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP Partner Michael I. Verde, in the Summer 2001 edition of the
Journal of Insurance Coverage entitled "Gun Litigation: A Survey of Recent Coverage Decisions."
Education
Mr. Nemecek earned his undergraduate degree cum laude (B.A., 1987) from Georgetown University, and his law degree (J.D., 1991) from New York University School of Law.
