Jennifer R. Davila concentrates her practice in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, with an emphasis on acquisitions and dispositions, and secured financings, representing developers, real estate investment trusts, commercial banks, finance companies and other institutional lenders in connection with development, construction, bridge, mezzanine and subordinate financings of various real estate assets throughout the country, including hotel, office, retail, condo, condo-hotel, mixed-use and residential and commercial land. More recently, Ms. Davila has been extensively involved in loan workouts, restructurings, enforcement proceedings (including foreclosures) and conveyances in lieu of foreclosure on behalf of commercial lenders.
Representative transactions include:
- Senior mortgage loan for historic rehabilitation of hotel located in Detroit, Michigan, with twelve subordinate capital sources, including historic tax credits, Brownfield single business tax credits and a conservation easement
- Representation of developer in connection with disposition of more than 3,500 residential building lots located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
- Workout and foreclosure of an $85,000,000 first lien mortgage loan on a large-scale mixed-use project, including residential lots, golf course and related amenities under development in the Mid-Atlantic region
Ms. Davila obtained her B.A.,
summa cum laude and
Phi Beta Kappa, in 1997 from Manhattan College, and her J.D. in 2000 from Columbia Law School, where she was a
Harlan Fiske Stone scholar. Ms. Davila also served as in-house counsel to Toll Brothers, Inc. (Virginia Regional Division). She is a member of the D.C. Bar Association, the New York Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
